Honest review
First, what is missing here: a beach of its own. The nearest is about 2 km away, the rest require transport, so a hire car is all but essential. If the whole holiday was meant to happen at the water's edge — look at the other side of Mahé.
In return L'escale has what no one else in the Seychelles does: a private marina able to take around 19 vessels. The pontoon leading to it from the resort is a ready-made stage: couples often hold their wedding ceremonies here.
The format is intimate — 25 rooms with contemporary furniture and equipment; each has a desk, which makes it convenient for business trips too: Victoria is a stone's throw away.
The views are in good order all the same: every room looks onto the mountains or the ocean, and the green grounds never let you forget you are in the Seychelles.
Book it for the yachts-city-short-outings scenario, not for a classic beach holiday.
