Honest review
If you pick your Muscat base by logistics, Grand Millennium Hotel Muscat is one of the most sensible points on the map: 15 minutes from the airport, the Al Azaiba business district, and the beach a couple of minutes away at a strolling pace.
A tip on accommodation: besides 296 rooms and suites there are 32 spacious apartments and villas with terraces and private pools — for a family or a long stay this is noticeably more comfortable than a standard room.
The key city sights are covered on foot: the Royal Opera House, the Sultan Qaboos Mosque and other landmarks for anyone into a cultural programme, with the Avenues mall and the largest Mall of Oman a couple of minutes away.
An honest caveat: this is a city resort, not a secluded island — you come here for Muscat and convenience, not for the quiet of a wild coastline.
Inside, everything runs at a five-star level: a spa with massages, rejuvenating treatments and a sauna, a buffet of delicacies and à la carte dining. A good choice for a first acquaintance with Oman and for anyone mixing holiday with business.
