Honest review
A resort from the first generation of Maldivian islands — it opened back at the dawn of tourism here, when the best islands went to resorts. Nalaguraidhoo remains one of the most beautiful to this day, and its main trump is said three times over: beach, beach, beach.
The sand is soft, there is almost no coral at the entry — a combination few of the newcomers can match. There is a sandbank for spectacular photographs, night snorkelling, bicycles for riding around the island.
The second argument is the infrastructure. There is so much entertainment and water sport that you can confidently plan 10–14 days and not grow bored: the island carries a family holiday, a trip with friends, even sports events or a conference.
Logistics: South Ari Atoll, 113 km south of Male airport. The transfer comes in stages — a 17-minute domestic flight, 5 minutes by bus to the jetty and 10 minutes by speedboat. One caveat: the domestic terminal lounge is not included, so the wait happens in the general area.
Who it suits: those for whom the beach is the deciding criterion, and those travelling in a large group and for a long stay.
