The resort is in Raa Atoll; the seaplane transfer takes 45 minutes.
Raaya's seaplane waiting lounge is premium class.
By Maldivian standards the island is big (1000 m x 500 m) and very green. It is a genuine jungle.
The island is wrapped in legends of ancient seafarers, and the different zones play on this in interesting ways.
For example, there is an unusual welcome ceremony. On arrival, each guest picks a model dhoni boat and launches it next to the windmill — a mini race to see whose arrives first.
For guests' convenience a shuttle circulates around the island, but there is no buggy service.
Unfortunately, there aren't enough bicycles for all the guests, so they are only available at the reception area.
The hotel has three restaurants, 2 cafes and a bar.
There are also plenty of activities — there is even a golf simulator and the resort's own yacht for sea cruises.
Sparkling wine is served at breakfast on every meal plan.
For the youngest guests there is a kids' club, where they can learn the story of Sebastian, who ended up here after a shipwreck, and find evidence of his life on the island in the form of art objects.
