Honest review
Choose this resort first of all for its address: Raa Atoll, one of the deepest in the archipelago, with Hanifaru Bay next door — a UNESCO biosphere reserve and the world's largest gathering place for manta rays and whale sharks. If the underwater world is the point of your trip rather than a box to tick, this is one of the strongest spots on the map of the Maldives.
The second reason is neighbouring Vaadhoo island: one of the best places to catch the famous Sea of Stars.
The villas speak the same language as the nature around them: modern, restrained interiors, a calm palette and natural materials — built for even deeper seclusion. The spa sits in the treetops: four double treatment rooms with panoramic windows, a bathroom and a separate shower.
Now, honestly, about the journey. The transfer is by seaplane, and it is a shared one: it may stop at another resort along the way, so 45 minutes is the minimum, not a guarantee. Build in a time buffer.
Who it is for: couples after seclusion, and divers and snorkellers who care more about mantas than parties.
