A single-tariff resort — and that is its strength: Niva Dhigali in Raa Atoll runs on one Premium All Inclusive plan that covers, in essence, everything you can eat and drink on the island. The format will especially suit those who know their wine and dislike surcharges.
There are enough restaurants and bars to change the scenery almost daily and try dishes from cuisines around the world — the food is deservedly considered one of the island's strengths.
The architecture is untypical for the Maldives: instead of thatched roofs, flat white ones — minimalist and modern. The interiors are light and calm, with bright splashes of colour — multicoloured cushions, orange towels — and unusual details such as curved chandeliers and swings.
The island is green, with walks along the edge of real jungle; the living reef gives you snorkelling and diving, plus boat excursions and island trips in search of rare local fauna. The staff are friendly, some speak Russian, and buggies will take you anywhere on the island.
