Come to Mirihi for two things: silence and diving. This is one of the smallest resorts in the Maldives, an ecologically clean island in Ari Atoll, and it deliberately has no televisions in the villas, no motorised water sports and no discos — factor that into your choice.
Divers have it easiest: more than 40 dive sites around, from coral gardens to manta rays and whale sharks. That is the island's main attraction.
The villas sit around the island and over the house reef; each carries its own Maldivian name drawn from land or sea. The view from a villa is an endless horizon — the best possible substitute for a television.
For food, navigate like this: freshly caught seafood at the overwater Muraka, themed evenings on a sand floor at Dhonveli, local specialities at the Anba bar. Any dish can also be delivered to your villa.
There is a spa and wellness programmes for recovery. The resort is made for couples and honeymoons — small, secluded, unhurried; for noise and entertainment crews, look elsewhere.
