Family premium on all-inclusive — a format you don't meet often in the Maldives, and Machchafushi takes it seriously.
Count what the price includes: good, varied food, a panoramic pool with a children's zone, a kids' club with daily entertainment and a long list of free services at the water-sports centre.
The island is small and very green — easy to walk around along the paths among the coconut palms. The house reef is good: pack a mask without fail.
Note one architectural quirk: most of the villas and infrastructure, including the lobby, the fitness centre and the Italian à la carte restaurant, stand on stilts above the lagoon. The aesthetic is unusual too — white and blue, Mediterranean.
On 15 January 2025 the resort became the first in The Centara Collection — the chain's line of high-level properties with particular attention to quality and the guest.
Take it for a holiday with children where you don't want to count extra bills — and for snorkelling without a boat.
