If whale sharks are the main goal of the trip, put Lux* South Ari Atoll at the top of the list: the marine reserve where they are watched all year round is just 20 minutes away by boat. Every dive is supervised by certified divers, and professionals accompany the excursions.
The sea is good right off the island too: dolphins and turtles turn up near the house reef — a mask and snorkel are obligatory in the suitcase.
