Honest review
One of the most straightforward choices in Lhaviyani Atoll for a quiet holiday: Innahura is a small island 132 km north of Velana airport where everything is geared to rest and calm.
The main practical advice concerns the beach. The sunrise side is a wide strip of sand, but the sand is coarser and there is coral rubble: take water shoes for getting in. The sunset side has a soft entry with no coral; the seaweed that occasionally washes up is cleared first thing in the morning.
With children it is easy here: the lagoon is shallow, waist-deep at low tide, always a comfortable depth for swimming. Underwater impressions are organised by boat: several times a day guests are taken out to snorkel on one of the largest coral reefs in the Maldives.
The infrastructure is modest but well judged: a spa, a gym, and sandy paths made for walking barefoot.
Who it suits: honeymooners, families who do not need a kids' club or entertainment programmes, and groups coming for yoga and meditation.
