Honest review
Seven spacious villas in a single style — modern natural design, simplicity, nature motifs — on a hillside above Mahe's north-west coast. Altitude is the main currency here: every day begins with a striking view over the Indian Ocean.
The villas' layout is thought through for a family as much as for a group of friends: there are shared zones and private ones, and nobody gets in anybody's way. A pleasant touch of its own — an open-air shower, reliably hidden from prying eyes.
An honest caveat: the climb up to the villas is quite steep, and it will be hard going for older people and small children. We advise hiring a car straight away — the villas become easy to reach, and the whole of Mahe opens up.
There is no restaurant of the complex's own, but that is a way of life rather than a minus: within walking distance are grocery shops, markets, restaurants and white-sand beaches sheltered from currents by reefs. The nearest village is Port Glaud.
A format for independent travellers who like living 'as at home', only with the ocean outside the window — many come back more than once.
