If your Seychelles plan is to explore Mahé rather than stay put, Story is one of the most convenient bases going: 30 metres to Beau Vallon beach, 15 km to the airport (20 minutes) and 5 km to the centre of Victoria (a 10-minute drive).
Advice on choosing a category: the junior suites with their own terrace or balcony cover the classic scenario, while the villas are the option for maximum seclusion and life surrounded by tropical greenery.
The gastronomy spares you dinner trips: seven restaurants and bars, each with its own concept. For balance there's a spa combining Western and Eastern methods, yoga (group or individual) and a gym overlooking the lagoon, open around the clock.
Keep in mind: the beach is not part of the grounds — Beau Vallon begins 30 metres away. For some that's a loss of privacy, for others a gain in freedom.
Who it suits: independent travellers, couples and honeymooners — weddings and honeymoons are organised by the resort's team.
