The main thing to understand about Paradisus by Melia Bali: it is two resorts in one, and your choice of wing shapes the whole holiday. Travelling as a couple — take The Reserve, the adults-only enclave. With children — Family Concierge: a mini club, a waterpark and family-focused service.
On rooms, count the square metres, not the category name. The connecting option of two Premium Room Garden View gives a family 80 sq m; two Junior Suite Garden View, 100 sq m — for a family with two children this often beats a suite.
If you want to wake up and step straight into the water, look at the categories with direct access to the lagoon pool — a refreshing oasis a few steps from the bed.
The resort itself is made with respect for the place: interiors inspired by Balinese culture, seasonal cuisine, gardens beyond the balconies. And outside the grounds is the real Bali, with its temples and rice terraces, worth reaching at least once.
It suits both couples and families — provided the wing is chosen correctly.
