A practical transit address in Muscat: the Novotel stands a few minutes' walk from the international airport and the Oman exhibition centre — for layovers, business trips and a first acquaintance with the country it is close to the default choice.
Al Seeb is the business heart of the capital: Al Maarid street, office buildings, ministries, and the port of Muttrah within easy reach. Yet the beach and the main sights are walkable — a rare combination for an airport location.
There are 215 rooms, all with views, in three categories. A classic room means panoramic windows over Muscat's mountains and old streets, a king-size bed, a 43-inch TV, free Wi-Fi, individually controlled air conditioning and tea- and coffee-making facilities.
For downtime there are several restaurants, a pool bar, a spa and even fishing; golfers get an 18-hole course. The business side is covered by a banquet hall and six conference rooms with the latest audiovisual equipment.
