Honest review
Let's be direct: this is not a beach story. The nearest public sandy shore is 8 km from Johny International Hotel, third line from the water, with umbrellas and loungers at extra charge. If the whole holiday is meant to be spent by the sea, look at other options.
As a base for Muscat, though, this 40-room boutique house is very good. The centre is 2.8 km away, the international airport 11.7 km; the Old Watchtower and the National Museum are five kilometres out, Riyam Park is a ten-minute drive, Qurum nature park 9 km.
Every room has a dining area with a mini-kitchen, air conditioning, a hairdryer and internet access; some add a fridge and a microwave. Families will find the children's menu and playground useful; everyone gets the 24-hour front desk, laundry and concierge.
Mornings bring a buffet breakfast (a halal version included); in the evening head to the restaurants nearby — ask the staff for a recommendation.
A choice for those who came to Oman for the sights and want to sleep comfortably without paying for the front line.
