The active have somewhere to put their energy: water sports with the newest professional equipment — from flyboards to flying water bikes — a golf academy run by the winner of prestigious international tournaments, and a marine biology centre where they will tell you about the coral conservation programme. The children, meanwhile, pass the time happily and usefully in a club of their own.
The island itself is an author's project: the Czech couple Jiří and Radka Šmejc once fell in love with the Maldives at first sight, bought the island and built the resort of their dreams, keeping the nature untouched. The turtle theme is everywhere: the resort owes its name to the sea turtles that have lived here for hundreds of years, from a bird's-eye view the water villas form a turtle's head, and the shell's colours and patterns recur in the interiors.
