Honest review
in the Maldives, perfectly combining contemporary architecture with the tropical atmosphere of a paradise island.
The island the resort occupies is man-made, so do not expect lush tropical vegetation from it — that will take a few more years to grow. Yet this particularity in no way prevents it from already holding a well-earned place among the region's most welcoming hotels.
"Varu" means "life in abundance" in the local language, and this remarkable place fully lives up to its name thanks to its unique rate plan. Everything on the island truly is included, and the number of services you receive is determined only by the number of nights you stay.
All the villas on the island are decorated in light tones with natural materials, and vast floor-to-ceiling windows let you admire the local scenery without limits — an excellent view opens from every villa.
The beaches deserve a separate mention: on this island they are wide and well kept, with excellent spots for swimming and snorkeling.
There are also plenty of dive sites around the island, for beginners and experienced divers alike. All the reefs here hold an enormous diversity of underwater life — from turtles and rays to mantas and reef sharks in season.
