Honest review
A rare genre for the Maldives — a resort whose star attraction is neither the reef nor the spa, but a wave. A world-class left-hander runs across the shallow house reef here, and the island long ago became a surfers' paradise: there is even a separate restaurant where their breakfasts, lunches and dinners are served. One rule: all surfers must be registered and licensed.
The island itself is generous: 35 hectares of lush tropical greenery in North Male Atoll, one of the most touristed. Getting to the sights of Male and its surroundings from here is easy.
An honest caveat: the house reef is on the shallow side, so for serious dives go with the local dive centre, which regularly runs trips to nearby spots.
Families are welcome too: there is a playground and a children's pool. A resort first and foremost for surfers — and for anyone who wants to combine the Maldives with active water, not just a sunlounger.
