North Malé Atoll, yet it feels like a separate planet: Reethi Rah is worth taking for space, the one thing the Maldives usually lacks. The island is among the country's largest, and that changes the whole mechanics of a holiday.
The first thing to understand: the distances here are real. The villas stand far apart, each with its own grounds and practically its own beach; you move around the island by bicycle or on the electric buggies that circulate regularly. If you love the compact islands you can cross in five minutes, this is a different genre.
There is plenty to fill the days: snorkelling, diving, culinary masterclasses, painting lessons. Come with children without hesitation — two Kids Only clubs are running, including a programme for the youngest guests.
