Honest review
Just 25 minutes by speedboat from Male and you land in Turkey.
OBLU XPERIENCE Ailafushi is a genuine outpost of Turkey in the Maldives.
All inclusive, water slides dropping straight into the ocean, excellent beaches, a giant pool, and drinks flowing like a river, since the bar is right next to it.
In the evenings there is live music, DJ sets, and discos until midnight.
The cherry on top is the buffet!
It is very cleverly zoned; there's no 'train station' feel or queues for food. There are many different dining halls, both indoors and on the sand.
The hotel has an excellent overwater gym (shared with OBLU SELECT Lobigili) and the largest underwater restaurant in the Maldives, with a varied menu.
The underwater restaurant belongs to OBLU Lobigili, so OBLU Ailafushi guests can only visit it for a $150 surcharge, but believe me, for an experience like this it's a steal.
I recommend going for lunch, to admire the underwater world in the sunlight breaking through the turquoise waters of the Indian Ocean.
