Honest review
Niva Kurumba Maldives holds an important place in the history of tourism in the Maldives.
It was the very first resort, opened in 1972 on a former coconut plantation (even the island's name translates as 'coconut').
The hotel suits above all those guests for whom a short transfer matters – it is just 10 minutes by boat from Male airport. The location next to the airport brings certain particularities, such as views of the neighbouring islands, Male in particular, and the seaplanes passing over the island. Despite this, the resort is in high demand most of the time.
The hotel team holds wine tastings, and at sunset there is a live jazz performance. The Thila restaurant ranks among the best in the Maldives.
Unlike many resorts, at Kurumba you can always bring shoes with heels, as there are paved walkways.
This is also very convenient for families with small children, for whom being able to move around comfortably with a stroller matters.
