Honest review
The ideal price-to-quality ratio not far from Malé — that is the shortest description of Makunudu, and for the Maldives it is a rare combination.
But first, what is not here — it matters for the right expectations. This is a resort without frills: ascetic bungalows in traditional Maldivian style, and until recently no Wi-Fi and no televisions in the rooms. If you need a screen and constant connectivity, look at other islands; if you need a reset, you have come to the right place.
What there is: excellent cooking — you will certainly come to appreciate the local chef's talent — a small spa, a good beach, a certified dive centre and a water-sports centre.
In the evenings — Maldivian Boduberu performances and visiting musicians: the entertainment here is live culture, not an animation team.
Recommended for couples of any age who are travelling towards each other, not towards infrastructure.
