Honest review
If you want serious infrastructure without the long journey to the outer atolls, Kuda Villingili is a strong candidate: the resort sits in North Male Atoll yet competes with the most celebrated names on substance.
A tip on pacing: start the day with a complimentary wellness session — they run every morning — then move on to the 150-metre pool, one of the longest in the Maldives. There is a jacuzzi for full relaxation and a separate pool for children.
Food is hard to get wrong: 7 restaurants, from hawkers-style street food to dinner on the beach. The restaurant divided into three rooms after the island's elements — Earth, Ocean and Fire — deserves a visit of its own.
Families are comfortable here: the Kuda Fiyo club with its entertainers keeps children busy with games and creative workshops, freeing parents for the spa — eight treatment villas standing right over the water.
Activities on site: surfing, fishing, tennis, volleyball, billiards and chess, a gym and a yoga pavilion overlooking the ocean. Honeymooners should look at the categories with panoramic water views — the penthouses facing the sea or the suites set among the palms.
