The island is green and wild in the best sense: herons, Maldivian hens and bats are everyday sightings on land. After a recent renovation the resort pairs traditional Maldivian style with ultra-modern details, and the villas come with the latest technology — a private pool, an ocean view and your own butler.
The headline attraction is the underwater spa: fish and rays glide past you mid-treatment, and the therapists' skill matches the setting. In 2020 the resort joined the Small Luxury Hotels of the World collection.
The reef in this part of the ocean has suffered from global warming, and the resort tackles it honestly: corals are grown in underwater nurseries and replanted onto the house reef. It is full of life — fish, rays, turtles, nurse sharks. We recommend the tour with the marine biologist to see how it all works.
