The island the hotel occupies is surrounded by world-class dive and surf sites. Although there is no snorkelling access from the island itself because of strong currents, several reefs around it are great for beginners and interesting for experienced divers too. Groups head out to them several times a day, accompanied by certified instructors from the local dive centre.
In recent years Kandooma has also become popular with surfers: several surf spots lie just off the island, guaranteeing rides on some of the best waves in the Maldives.
If extreme water sports are not your thing, the island offers a magnificent SPA centre with therapeutic treatments and massages, along with a wide choice of cruises and excursions.
For children there is a colourful kids' club, with a constant round of entertainment, sports competitions and workshops.
