Honest review
A democratically priced resort with one of the best beaches on South Male Atoll — and with nuances worth knowing in advance.
The main advice concerns the Comfort category: these rooms stand on the island's south-west, and the beach there varies a great deal from villa to villa. It is no drama — the island is very small, and a better entry into the water is always a few steps away — but the best beach and snorkelling are on the north-west.
The house reef lies a few metres offshore and is easy to swim to on your own; regular trips also run to the neighbouring reefs. The resort has been open a long time; the last renovation came in 2017 — the rooms were refurbished and fitted with modern equipment, though you wouldn't call them new.
There is not much entertainment for children: people come here for a calm rhythm — sun, snorkelling, water sports — and the evening dancing at the bar winds down before midnight.
The dining set-up is compact: a main restaurant, an a la carte one and three bars; the spa prices are pleasant, and pretty photo spots are scattered across the island. A good option for those who want a lot of Maldives for sensible money.
