A resort with a truly homely atmosphere on Baa Atoll — and a benchmark Maldivian beach: white, soft, powdery sand and a gentle, gradual entry into the water, with no corals at the entry point on any side.
The island is small but very green. The feeling is Robinson Crusoe in a comfortable edition: a minimum of people, a maximum of seclusion.
Baa is an atoll with a rich underwater world; colourful corals can be seen here. The resort has its own boat, so water excursions and impressions are assured.
Families should know about the very flexible loyalty policy on children's accommodation. And for a sense of the level here, the neighbours speak for themselves: InterContinental, The Standard, Anantara Kihavah.
Logistics: Dhigufaru Vinagandhu island lies 148 km from Velana airport — a seaplane, or a domestic flight (20 minutes) plus a speedboat. One nuance: the air-conditioned lounge for the wait is for V.I.P. guests only.
Who it suits: couples after romance, and families who want a good product at a sensible price, a small island and a comfortable beach.
