Coco Palm Dhuni Kolhu

Honest review

Coco Palm Dhuni Kolhu is a serene, traditional resort where you will find beauty, seclusion and excellent service at a sensible price.

The resort occupies a mid-sized island with just 98 villas and plenty of walking paths shaded by coconut palms and other tropical vegetation.

Since Baa Atoll, to which the resort belongs, is a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, the island is surrounded by numerous fascinating dive sites — some famed for magnificent coral gardens, others for frequent encounters with reef sharks and barracudas. Not far from the island there are no fewer than 4 places where, in season, you can meet the mysterious manta rays, and even whale sharks (from June to November).

The 98 villas, most of them on the beach, are scattered across the island. The resort offers accommodation that is not the most opulent, but comfortable and impeccably styled in the traditional Maldivian manner, with thatched roofs.

The western side of the island is the more attractive place to stay: the beach is wider there, and in the evenings it offers stunning sunset views.

The island operates an all-inclusive plan, which lets guests fully appreciate the resort's kitchen — and the food at Coco Palm is always beyond praise.
