Honest review
Let us be honest about who this island suits — it has a strong character. Surfers — no question: the spot with the biggest waves in the Maldives is next door, and there is a separate room category just for them. Young couples and groups of friends — nightlife and parties, a rarity for the Maldives. Families — a children's pool and a kids' club with engaging activities.
Now the fine print worth knowing in advance. The journey is short — about half an hour by speedboat, 13 km from Velana airport — but the wait for the transfer can stretch to 2–3 hours depending on international flight schedules and seat availability.
The beach is a long sandy stretch on one side of the island, with coral rubble in places. And do count the budget: excursions, the spa, diving, snorkelling equipment and surfing are all charged separately.
Snorkelling on the house reef and long hours in the sun are always at hand. The verdict: a lively, unpretentious island for active guests, not a refuge for quiet seclusion.
