Honest review
Biyadhoo is about the reef, not the villas. A green island on the south-eastern edge of South Malé Atoll with the kind of house reef people come to the Maldives for: 7 snorkelling entry points, with reef sharks, rays, turtles, squid and lobsters right off the shore. Dive sites are close by, including Manta Point and Kandooma Thila — leave the latter to experienced divers, the current is strong.
The accommodation is simple and honest: two-storey beach bungalows around the island's perimeter, all rooms standard — no luxury, but with everything you need. That very simplicity is what creates the easy-going atmosphere.
Dining means the main restaurant, buffet-style and on a schedule: breakfast 07:30–09:30, lunch 12:30–14:00, dinner 19:30–21:30. In the evening the centre of island life is the Coconut Bar, with live bands and DJs.
A nuance worth knowing: the western side is better for the beach and snorkelling, but in the evening the bar's music carries over there. There is no kids' club — guests of any age are welcome, but no one will be entertaining the little ones.
Malé airport is 30 kilometres away, so a trip to the capital is easy. Come here if you're a snorkeller, a diver, or anyone who chooses the ocean over interiors.
