Dubai without the obligatory beach: a five-star city resort among the glittering towers of Jumeirah Lakes Towers, next to Dubai Marina. This is life in a vertical city, where the panoramas stand in for the sea.
Accommodation runs from rooms and suites to apartments in a contemporary urban style; some categories come with a panoramic view of Sheikh Zayed Road.
The dining is a strong argument: the award-holding Italian Manzoni Bistro & Bar with its cocktails, the open-air lounge La Vue among the JLT towers for late evenings, and Seasons with an international menu, themed nights and brunches — a handy format for family outings.
The 34th floor deserves its own mention: the Fit & Spa Lounge with a panoramic gym, free weights and a cardio zone, and after the workout, a spa with a sauna and an aroma steam room.
Reference points: 15 kilometres to central Dubai, 38 to DXB airport. An option for those coming for the city, the restaurants and business — the beach from here means a separate trip.
