Vertical Dubai as One&Only does it: not an island, not a beach, but an ultra-modern tower in the iconic One Za'abeel complex, in the very heart of the city.
The main architectural attraction is The Link, the world's longest cantilevered platform, joining the complex's two towers and floating above the city. That is where the life is concentrated: haute-cuisine restaurants with world-name chefs, stylish lounges and panoramic spaces looking over the skyline.
Rooms and suites keep to a calm contemporary aesthetic: soft neutral tones, floor-to-ceiling windows, intelligently planned space; the views take in the city's landmarks, Burj Khalifa included. For a pause — a spa complex and infinity pools with panoramic views.
This is One&Only in city format, and it should be booked deliberately: there is no sea here, but Dubai is at arm's length. Who it is for: a short urban chapter of a trip — before or after the beach part.
