If you are choosing an Emirates resort for a holiday with children, Movenpick on Al Marjan Island is one of the best-argued options in Ras Al Khaimah. The children's infrastructure is no box-ticking exercise: the Starfish Adventure club splits kids into three age groups with individual programmes, the indoor play zone covers 200 sq m, plus an outdoor playground and a separate children's pool.
For the adults — a wellness centre with four calming treatment rooms and signature therapies, a gym and studio classes. A sensible scheme: children at the club, parents at the spa.
Rooms are light and calm, with sea views; choose a king-size bed or two singles, with a rain shower in the bathroom.
The setting itself is a separate bonus: still waters around the island and a panorama of the Yanas and Jais mountains against the scenic backdrop of the Arabian Peninsula.
Families first and foremost, but couples and adventure seekers will find plenty to do here as well.
