The Ottoman Empire at full height: Jumeirah Zabeel Saray on the western side of Palm Jumeirah is frescoes and hand-painted ceilings, natural marble, gold, oriental works of art and crystal chandeliers. Luxury here is not hinted at — it is shown.
The scale matches: 405 rooms plus spacious villas with private entrances and lagoon-style pools. Service is Jumeirah-grade, the technology modern, but the set dressing belongs to another era.
Two fixtures for your programme. First, the Music Hall cabaret theatre: signature cuisine plus a creative show, and the evening takes care of itself. Second, the Talise Ottoman spa, one of the largest and most opulent in the world; allow half a day, not an hour.
An honest remark: this much gold and ornament will not please everyone — devotees of minimalism should look elsewhere.
Logistics: about 45 km to Dubai International Airport (DXB); golf, theme parks and the business district are close by.
For whom: connoisseurs of grand style and an evening programme — those who want Dubai in full dress.
