The drive from Abu Dhabi International Airport takes about 25 minutes (35 km) — convenient for a short trip and for pairing the beach with excursions.
Rooms range from suites to residences; the upgraded rooms are contemporary with Arabic and Moroccan elements. When booking, ask about the view: windows face either the palace or the sea, and the two are very different experiences.
With children it is straightforward: a pool, high chairs, a free cot on request, a children's menu, babysitting at extra cost.
