Honest review
If you're choosing a Phuket resort by its kitchen, this one makes the shortlist: it has a seafood restaurant recognised by the Michelin guide to Thailand in 2019 and 2020.
Chef Bunram, with more than 20 years of experience, cooks by authentic Thai methods with fresh local produce; the dishes are named after Thai classics. The second gastronomic point is chef Lukas's modern Italian cooking. Add buffets, à la carte menus and royal Thai cuisine.
The resort itself is an expansive parkland by Bang Tao beach: white sand, gardens, a freshwater lagoon on two sides and the Andaman Sea ahead.
For a quiet day, take the spa: named after the angsana tree, it stands at the heart of a garden with a pond.
We'd recommend it to families and to anyone wanting to combine the beach with local culture and wellness programmes — Phuket opens up from here on every side.
