Honest review
- with well-kept, green grounds, sits in the south of Sri Lanka, right on the shore of the Indian Ocean.
Compared with many of the island's hotels, The Long Beach is fairly large — 195 rooms, two pools, and several bars and restaurants on site.
Yet despite this, the hotel keeps a calm, serene atmosphere. That is easily explained by the character of the resort town of Koggala. It is still rather "young" and has not yet been claimed by crowds of tourists. The only thing that breaks the quiet is the sound of the surf.
So for guests dreaming of seclusion, Koggala is an excellent choice for a holiday.
Still, this hotel should be recommended with caution to retirees or families with children. The reason is the beach.
The ocean in this part of Sri Lanka is restless even in season, and strong waves are no rarity here. So swimming with small children, or lazing serenely in warm waters, will be problematic.
