Honest review
The practical picture: the resort stands in Unawatuna, on Sri Lanka's south coast — the magnificent local beaches are within easy reach and the centre of Galle is about 6 km away, but the drive from Colombo airport is 153 km, so allow time for the transfer and plan nothing for arrival day.
The format is chalet cottages in a large tropical garden. It is the garden that makes the place special: chipmunks in the trees, peacocks on the bungalow roofs, monitor lizards on the paths and monkeys deep in the grounds — company worth being ready for, and which children adore.
The rooms have the essentials for the climate: air conditioning and a fan, a four-poster bed with a mosquito net, a minibar, a bathroom with a shower, a private balcony.
Around you is everything for a change of scene: restaurants, shopping centres and even nightclubs within walking distance, and the sights of Galle close by.
Who it suits: couples after romance, and families who want beach, living nature and civilisation in one place.
