Honest review
Let's start with the honest part: the transfer here takes about 5 hours — 210 km from the international airport, 178 km from Colombo. If that does not put you off, what follows is all upside; a seaplane, incidentally, can be arranged on request.
The resort stands on the untouched shores of Dickwella at the very south of Sri Lanka and ranks among the island's best beach addresses. From the rooms and suites — views of turquoise water and a sense of seclusion.
Build the itinerary like this: a couple of days by the pool and on the beach, a day for Matara with its ancient buildings, a day for an excursion to Yala national park — all of it close by.
In the evenings — fresh catch, local and international dishes, pizza from a stone oven; the restaurants here are named among the best in the Matara area. For recovery — the Balinese Ayu spa with its four-hands massage.
Who it suits: couples, families and groups ready to trade a long road for the wild south — and to combine beach with safari.
