Honest review
A quiet north-west Mauritius classic under the Beachcomber name — a resort where much depends on choosing your room and your dates well.
Dates first: from 26 April 2025 blocks D and E are closed — a full reconstruction of 91 rooms is under way, with the blocks reopening in stages until 8 August 2025. Travelling in that window is fine, but ask for a room away from the works and get it confirmed in writing.
Now the rooms. The basic logic of the inventory: a bedroom with a lounge area plus a bathroom with both a bathtub and a shower. What separates the categories is what lies beyond the door: a ground-floor terrace or a balcony overlooking the garden. Families with a suitcase of beach toys will find the terrace easier; couples — a balcony higher up.
Logistics: 15 km to Port Louis, 60 km to the international airport — treat the transfer as part of the journey, not an annoying detail.
Who it suits: those set on north-west Mauritius who want refreshed rooms — after August 2025, blocks D and E will be the newest part of the resort.
