An honest four stars for those who come to Mauritius to move rather than lie still: sport, company, an active rhythm — the resort defines its own audience as 'the young and the young at heart'.
It sits on the east side of the island, on a quiet beach facing a wide lagoon. A practical detail: the east coast means sunrises over the ocean; the airport is 52 km away, so allow about an hour for the drive.
The main argument is the sports programme: yoga, stretching, tai chi, BodyPump sessions, table and beach tennis, badminton, volleyball, beach football, bocce, frisbee, aqua gym.
Add two pools: a 735 m² infinity pool and a separate tropical one overlooking the beach — plenty of room to cool down between workouts.
Who should think twice: lovers of complete quiet ought to try this energetic rhythm on for size first. Groups of friends and couples who find plain sunbathing dull will find the 'lagoon + sport + company' formula works beautifully.
