If the plan for Mauritius is to go nowhere and live on the beach, this resort in Belle Mare is made for exactly that scenario: an all-inclusive system, a fine position right on the ocean and a beach of more than a kilometre — one of the best on the east coast.
First, what to know before booking. One: the east coast is prone to winds in the summer months — the rest of the year the weather is comfortable, so mind the season. Two: there is no infrastructure and no bus stop nearby — the sights are reached by car.
If those terms suit you, the rest is all upside: water amusements right on the beach — a glass-bottomed boat, single and double kayaks, catamarans, windsurfing; light, cosy rooms with wooden décor in the bathroom; cleaning twice a day and staff who work at making the place feel like home.
