The practical argument for Lux* Grand Gaube is geography: the north of Mauritius lives without marked seasonality or winds, and the weather is good all year round. If your holiday dates are fixed, that removes the trip's main risk.
The second argument is condition: a full renovation came in 2017, with design by Kelly Hoppen in her signature 'neutral luxury' — the style is retro chic.
Choosing where to stay is simple: all rooms and villas are spacious, with a balcony or terrace and an ocean view. For families and longer stays we recommend the villas with a fitted kitchenette, a private pool and a round-the-clock butler.
The service is the kind you don't notice at first: attentive but unobtrusive; here your wishes are more often anticipated than taken down.
