Honest review
The first question when booking is who takes which wing. Couples and honeymooners — the adults-only exclusive zone: a separate building, a private pool and bar, a butler, breakfasts at the Jade restaurant. Families and groups — the main grounds with the full infrastructure.
The second recommendation: look at the ground-floor rooms — their balconies open onto a 180-degree view of the Indian Ocean.
There is plenty to fill the day, much of it at no extra charge: glass-bottom boats, kayaks, pedal boats, snorkelling, windsurfing, water skiing, aqua aerobics, tennis, beach volleyball, boccia and table tennis. For an extra fee — diving, big-game fishing, mountain bikes and scooters.
Look into the spa even if you usually walk past: treatments built on Indian Ayurvedic practices and a snow room for hot-and-cold contrast therapy — not something you meet often in Mauritius. The fitness centre runs around the clock.
Logistics: Pointe aux Piments beach in the north-west, 15 km to Port Louis and about 60 km to the airport — not the shortest transfer, but the capital is next door.
