Honest review
If you were choosing one resort on Mauritius for every occasion — from a honeymoon to a family trip — Le Prince Maurice would be on the shortlist. Its name, like the island's, comes from the Dutch prince Maurice Van Nassau; its look — from architect Jean Marc Eynaud and designer David Edwards.
Practicalities first: rooms start at 70 square metres — spacious by any measure. When booking, settle the main question: a villa in tropical greenery by the ocean, or a villa on stilts by the lake — they are two different holidays.
What to do is not in question: golf, diving, snorkelling, squash, two floodlit tennis courts, a yoga and tai chi pavilion, two heated pools. For recovery — a steam room, sauna, jacuzzi, thermal pool and a spa where treatments are tailored to your goals: detox, rejuvenation or simply rest.
The interiors are dark wood and natural materials in the national style, with plenty of light and space.
Who it is for: honeymooners after romance, and families who need space — in every sense.
