One of the best hotels in Sri Lanka's resort area, renowned for superb service and comfortable accommodation.
The resort consists of a three-level main building and two adjoining three-storey wings in the style of a Dutch fort (designed by the architect Geoffrey Bawa).
When you are here — whether on a business trip or a long-awaited holiday — your comfort becomes the staff's top priority. Attention to detail runs through everything at the resort: consider, for instance, the option of choosing the firmness of your pillows for a comfortable night's sleep.
But the hotel's uniqueness lies not only in the stunning views from the rooms, the snow-white sand or the azure sea, but also in the design vision the architect so skilfully wove into every detail of this place. Guests enjoy not only the tropical climate and Sri Lanka's special atmosphere, but aesthetic pleasure too.
The 16 suites, created out of 30 original rooms, were designed by Geoffrey Bawa, who gave the hotel its reputation as a design boutique. He deftly combined refinement, authenticity, local artists and polish. Each room has a distinct character and its own unrepeatable story.
The artists whose works adorn more than just the hotel's public spaces were commissioned to depict what they felt each suite's name evoked. In every suite you will see one principal artwork on the living-room wall and several others in the bathrooms and dressing rooms. All are linked by a single theme, each picture revealing and complementing the room's overall character.
