Honest review
A beautifully kept base-level five-star of the Gloria chain — one of those cases where age suits a resort. It opened in 2001, had a full renovation in 2007, and partial refurbishment never really stops: we walked the grounds ourselves — everything freshly painted, checked, in good order.
The atmosphere here is almost Mediterranean: pines, mandarin and orange trees, golf courses with lakes — and the air is glorious. The main restaurant lays out its buffet in the shade of orange trees, snack bars are scattered from the pontoon to the pool, and the Zodiac bar under its glass dome works around the clock.
The beach is wide and sandy, with a pontoon and soft loungers; one caveat — fine shingle underfoot as you enter the sea. The children’s playground sits, quite deliberately, between the pool and the sea: parents at the bar, children in plain sight. The Gogi kids’ club runs from 9:00 to 23:00, so a quiet dinner for two is a realistic plan here.
Rooms range from standards in the main building (bear in mind: twin beds only and a garden view) to two-storey villas on the second line across the road. That sounds alarming, but the underpass settles it: the road is inaudible, the villas sit deep in the pines, the complex has a pool of its own, and each villa comes with its own buggy, a butler and first-line cabanas with a panoramic view.
The trump card is golf: two 18-hole courses and one nine-hole, plus the grounds of all three Glorias at your disposal. A resort for families with children and for golfers; the categories are many and very different — choose with us, not at random.
