Honest review
An option for those who choose Bodrum for quiet rather than big, noisy resorts: Avantgarde Refined sits in the secluded Küdür Bay in Yalıkavak and keeps an intimate rhythm.
The practical side: a private beach right on the bay and a 24-hour concierge that takes care of restaurant tables, concert tickets, excursions and airport transfers — useful, because Yalıkavak and the peninsula around it deserve day trips.
The design is an argument in itself: a project by studio Wangan, winner of the Red Dot Design Award. The rooms have handmade furniture built to individual sketches, soft light and a cosy personal space instead of standard-issue rooms.
A word of advice: allow extra time for the road — the drive can stretch out with the peninsula's traffic.
A resort for couples and for anyone who values atmosphere and detail over the size of the grounds.
