Honest review
A big family resort on the right end of Zanzibar: the island's far north-west, right on the beachfront and just 2 km from the centre of Nungwi.
The complex is extensive and set in a park: a seven-storey main building with lifts and an additional two-storey wing. Riu Palace Zanzibar and Riu Palace Swahili are next door — this stretch of coast is well settled.
Rooms are one-room units with a seating area and a sofa, and a bathroom with a shower cabin; each comes with a balcony or a terrace.
The children's question is answered, with one caveat: the RiuLand club takes kids aged 4–7 and 8–12, and daytime activities run several times a week rather than daily — plan your days with that in mind.
The airport transfer is 66 km, 60 to 75 minutes on the road.
Who it is for: families who want a large park resort by Nungwi beach with clear infrastructure and RIU neighbours close by.
