A practical base in Singapore for a family: the rare case where a central city address combines with real open gardens and quiet inside.
Count the logistics: on foot you reach both the city's main shopping and entertainment district and the Orchard Boulevard and Stevens stations (about 15 minutes). You will hardly need a taxi on this trip.
With children, take the family rooms: concierge service plus a pantry stocked with everything parents need — half the comfort of a city trip depends on this; a sofa bed for one child is possible, subject to availability.
For everyone else, the standard logic of choice: the pool view is quieter, the city view more striking. The rooms have a separate bathtub and shower cabin, and a king-size bed or two singles.
Set aside an evening for the resort itself: the gardens, the cooking and the body-care treatments deserve their own time, not the leftovers after shopping.
